Jim Ball is the cofounder, president, and CEO of The Goals Institute where he inspires and helps organizations, teams, and the people in them to improve their performance results and achieve their potential.

Jim provides keynote speeches and seminars for leaders and high achievers in businesses, associations, and other organizations. He also facilitates strategic goal planning retreats for organizations and teams.

He is the author of seven books: DNA Leadership through Goal-Driven Management, Soar . . . If You Dare, Professionalism Is for Everyone, The Entrepreneur's Tool Kit, ABCs for Life, It's About TIME! and World-Class Customer Service.

Previously, Jim was the founder and CEO of Venture America, a successful venture capital firm that specialized in starting new businesses, particularly those in technology fields. Jim helped launch over 20 new businesses including Digene Diagnostics and The Discovery Channel. As the initial and lead investor in these companies, Jim served on the boards of directors of many of these companies. He worked in partnership with the founders of these businesses to help them transform their dreams into goals and then make their goals realities. As John Hendricks, the Chairman and founder of Discovery Communications put it, "Jim is an authority on goal power."

Prior to his venture capital business, Jim was a managing partner at Arthur Andersen where he specialized in serving rapid growth businesses and large multi-national companies. He was responsible for serving clients such as Digital Switch, Orbital Sciences, Mars Incorporated, and Marriott.

Jim was co-founder and first president of George Mason University's Entrepreneurial Institute, better known as the Century Club. He was an adjunct faculty member at the university where he created and taught the highly rated management course, Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and National Speakers Association.
